Photography Tour to Japan in April 2013
How would you like to be part of a fun and inspiring 9 day guided tour to some of the most scenic and culturally interesting places in Japan?
We are currently organising a tour from in April 2013, which is Spring (blossom time) in Japan. We are arranging the itinerary and will be the tutors and guides (Perri lived in Japan for 4 years.)
Throughout the tour we will maximise the opportunities for you to photograph at a leisurely pace, with time for personal and group tuition and discussion of each others images. Together the group will explore landscape, nature and photo-journalistic approaches to photography. We will be sharing vital photography techniques and tips about how to maximise the beauty and impact of your photos while you learn how to approach the ever-changing conditions and opportunities that come with travel photography.
All the travel arrangements, driver etc are being organised by a trusted travel agent. We will be staying in traditional Japanese accommodation (ryokans) and sharing with you the experience of traditional food, drink and hot-springs! We will be travelling in a small bus with our own driver which will free us from the pressure of train and bus connections and allow for a more flexible and very enjoyable itinerary.
Numbers are restricted to a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 6 participants, to make it a very personal tour and workshop. So contact us very soon if you are interested, as places will fill fast.
Costs: To keep the prices as low as possible for you, the cost will vary depending on the final total number of participants.
From approximately $6,250 to $7,500 pp (twin share) depending on final numbers and final costings.
This price includes return airfares from the Gold Coast to Osaka, all accommodation including breakfasts and dinners, 7 days photo tuition, all transfers and transport.
Not included: inflight meals, midday meals and other refreshments. Entry fees to shrines, castles etc.
Payment dates: $200 deposit will be required to reserve your place on the tour (by the 1st of December 2012 at the latest.) (The deposit will be refunded to you if the tour doesn't proceed, but not if you cancel.)
Full payment required by 15th of February 2013.

Draft Itinerary for the TourBoth of these itineraries are still subject to change. They are here to give you an indication of the places we aim to take you, which include some of the best preserved heritage cities and villages of Japan as well as mountain and lake areas of immense scenic beauty.
The main difference between the two itineraries is that on Itinerary A we would spend a bit less time in each area but would include the 5 Lakes area close to Mt. Fuji. (If the weather gods are kind to us we will have stunning views of Mt. Fuji reflected in the lakes.) On Itinerary B we spend more time in each area with a bit less travelling but don't go to Mt. Fuji. We would like feedback from the participants before deciding on which itinerary becomes the final one. By the way, all of these locations are south-west of Tokyo and far away from Fukushima and the areas affected by last year's tsunami.
